Kay Vogel Design, is a labor of love from my studio to you. I create custom jewelry using fine crystals and fine plated metal from Israel.

Making jewelry has evolved throughout the last 15 years. I started just to make earrings and bracelets to match certain outfits I had. I later worked for an amazing bead store at the Mall of America, Beadniks and then it became Lotus Beads and Jewelry. There I learned from some of the most amazing teachers and fell in love with natural stones. I still love natural stones and their healing properties. I gained valuable confidence in my skills there. When a favorite customer told me she knew which pieces I made and she just had to have them. I also designed a bracelet, that turned into a class that is still taught there today, 5 years later. During this time, I fell in love with another designer who always wore a bunch of bracelets, one pf them just sparkled. I got to meet her at a large bead show and asked where to get the parts to make that bracelet. She steered me to a vendor and my mom and I each bought enough parts to make 2 bracelets each. I was hooked.

Since then, I’ve grown the “sparkle bracelet” into a business. With many more pieces than just that one bracelet. I have vendors I love to work with and they provide me with the finest quality parts. This jewelry has allowed me to create pieces for “The Royal Ladies of the Saint Paul Winter Carnival”, Aquatennial Ambassadors, countless local royalty and Ambassadors and many old and new friends. I’ve expanded into Wedding Jewelry. I enjoy working with a Bride for jewelry for her, her bridal party, Mother of the Bride and Groom, Grandma’s for the Bride or Groom, Flower Girls, Junior Bridesmaids, Grooms and guests. It is so fun to start with a dress, a few ideas and see where we end up. This year, I’ve worked with friends for their weddings. Its been so much fun to go to the wedding and see everyone in my jewelry.
